OSHA Construction and General Industry Training

Construction and general industry safety training are paramount to the safety of workers and their work environments.  QMS offerss 10 hour and 30 hour OSHA certified construction and general industry training.  Several major components of the training include:

HAZWOPER

Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training is the basic training needed for workers in the health and safety and emergency response fields.  QMS provides training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (Check out the Calendar of Events for course locations).  Both the 8 hour refresher,  40 hour course and safety site supervisor courses are offered and can be

First Aid

100_0932This course assists participants to identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.  Protective gloves, bandages, splints are used in the practical exercises for administering First Aid.  Video demonstrations, workbook and skills cards are provided to assist in teaching the techniques and technical material.  QMS provides accredited Red Cross Instructors to teach and certify participants in the First Aid course.

CPR

100_0923Breathing emergencies are life threatening and have varied causes.  This course teaches the participant potential early warning signals and how to properly administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), if necessary. CPR is a techniques meant to keep oxygen flowing to vital organs (heart and brain) while medical care is on the way.  Hands on manikins are used for practical experience in performing the breathing and compression techniques.  While video, workbooks and skills cards are provided to assist in teaching the technical material.  QMS provides accredited Red Cross Instructors to teach and certify participants in the CPR course.

AED

100_0934Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a device that analyzes the hearts electrical rhythm, and if necessary prompts the user to deliver a shock to a person experiencing cardiac arrest.  Hands on AED devices are used for practical experience and skills cards, workbooks and video demonstrations are used to assist in teaching the technical material.  QMS provides accredited Red Cross Instructors to teach and certify participants in the AED course.
